On Friday November 25th, Pinnguaq was pleased to host the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, at our Lindsay Makerspace, and we were equally pleased to accept an investment of over $1 million, through the Jobs and Growth Fund. This funding will be used to adapt our digital literacy training tools to support businesses and underrepresented job-seekers in Indigenous communities.
The program will be co-designed with partners across southern Ontario, and our goal is to support 60 Indigenous businesses, and to allocate funding to support up to 120 internships and job placements. It’s a significant investment, and we believe it will have a significant, lasting, positive impact in the communities we serve.
You can read all about it in the attached Press Release from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
